Click on My Computer on your desktop and then click Control Panel ...

Or another way to open Control Panel is to click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. If you don't see the item you want, click view all Control Panel options.

Open Display properties in Control Panel. On the Settings tab, under Screen area, drag the slider to 1024 by 768 pixels, and then click OK.

When prompted about resizing your desktop, click OK.

To change back to 800 by 600 pixels just follow the same steps.
